1994 Mongeard-Mugneret Richebourg
Sweet red berries like cherry and strawberry, sweet spice, cinnamon, nutmeg aroma. Tannins have melted and the acidity lifts the elegant fruit. This is a very suave wine and the mouthfeel is neither tart nor cloying, just optimum that some Bourgogne displays. Finish is touch earthy without being funky and displays exotic spices. Silky texture and a harmonious wine with depth. Perfect time to drink. 97/100

1982 Leoville Les Cazes
There was definitely top tier Bordeaux character in terms of complexity but tannins have not been fully dissolved and there was a touch harshness and too much herbaceous tones in the finish. Definitely decant 3 hours in advance. 90+/100

2009 Jean Foillard “Fleurie”
Red berries and sweet spice nose. Elegant and precise with underlying nice acidity. Nice structure. The finish is earthy, sweet but not jammy and concentrated strawberry like fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamon. Quite seductive and sensual. Not thin. Quite extraordinary Beaujolais. 94/100

1991 Rene Rostaing Cote Rotie “Cote Blonde”
Freshly cut game meat, raspberry, ash, turmeric, nutmeg, black pepper aroma. Structured wine. Red berries, esp. raspberry. Various spices unfold in the finish. Intense but not heavy. Finish lasts 90 seconds. Complex wine at its peak with should easily last another 10+ years. Leaves a sweet and seductive impression on the palette. 97/100

2009 Clos Rougeard, Les Poyeux
Soft spices, red fruits, dried herbs aroma. Suave and persistent on the palette with red fruits, esp. raspberry. Long finish has earth, spice, dried herbs, black pepper notes. Very elegant. A great wine in the making.
94-5+/100

2007 Clos Rougeard, Les Poyeux
Cassis, black forest berries, lead, touch of charred oak aroma combined with sweet spices. Elegant. Strong acidity balances the fruit which is more ripe than typical for Foucault. Tannins are silky but present. Taste of oak is more evident than 2009. 94/100

2000 Chateau Petit Village, Pomerol
This is a great example of Merlot-CF which is devoid of green tannins-vegetal finish. It is opulent with ample red fruits and blackberries. All elements are perfectly integrated and tannins have melted. Optimum drinking time. 94/100

2002 Chevillon, NSG, Les Cailles
Quite dark color, rich and spicy and black forest berries nose. There is a good cut and nice acidity on the palette. The fruit is ample and both red and black berries. The backbone is earty and mineral and the integration of oak perfect. The finish is medium-long. We paired it with salmon with a port-lime and ginger sauce. 93-4/100

2004 Arnaud Ente, Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots
Outstanding perfume with many sweet spices and rose and berries. The rich and layered red and black berries on the palette taste like how they tasted before genetic manipulation. The wine has the right acidity and perfect harmony. The finish is medium long with dried herbs like rosemary and rose petals. Sweet but not jammy finish. At its peak. 95-6/100

1994 Peyre Rose, Clos Syrah, Leone
Dark color. Cassis, iron mineral, earth and ripe plums aroma. On the palette it is rich with dark fruits like black cassis and plum along with melted dark chocolate and impressive minerality. The oak is perfectly integrated and adds complexity, tannins are persistent but soft and the overall texture is opulent. No greenness in the finish. With aeration nutmeg and licorice developed in the aroma. Quite thick but still elegant. Ready to drink but it can continue to give pleasure for many more years.
95-6/100

1996 Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin
Quite dark color but not overextraction. Spicy black fruit aroma. Full and intense but a bit stemmy. Earthy, meaty, chunky with both wood and terroir spice in the finish. 92/100

2000 Beaucastel, Chateauneuf du Pape
Dark color, spicy and stony nose. Wild berries on the palette. Complex. Layers of spice, fruit and minerals unfold on the finish. Excellent. Tannins and acidity stay on the background and impart depth. The finish is attractive and leaves sweet fruit impression rather than earth. Perfect drinking point. 13.5%. 95/100

2004 Domaine Leccia, Pietra Bianca, Patrimonio
Forest floor, wild thyme, candied black fruit aroma. Ripe black berries and plum. Tannins are soft and grainy. Slightly candied fruit is balanced by good acidity. The finish is an interplay between fungus, earth and sweet dark berries. Perfect drinking point. Gives pleasure. Has character. %100 Niellucia. 13.5% 93/100

2008 Stephane Tissot, Singulier Trousseau
Green herbs and floral aroma is restrained. The palette is thin but after 2 days it became like a cranberry juice dusted with black pepper and herbs. 89/100

1993 Domaine Tempier, Bandol Cabassou
Dark color and ruby edges. Slightly sweet plum aroma with soft spices and thyme, oregano. Builds weight on the palette with bracing acidity and black raspberries. It became even better after 2 days. 14%. 92+/100

2009 Domaine Pegau, Chateauneuf du Pape
Hot stones and spicy nose is captivating. Rich black fruits like plums and blackberries unfold on the palette. The fruit is ripe but not jammy. This is a layered wine with classic proportions and a long finish. Excellent. 94/100

2011 Abbatucci, Faustine red, VV.
Rose, earth and red summer fruits aroma. On the palette the tart cranberry and spice unfolds and the medium finish has both earth and herbal notes. Drink at 16 degree Celsius. Very good vin de terroir.13.5%. 91/100

2009 Chateau du Cedre, Cahors
Bitter chocolate, cassis, touch licorice, Napoleon cherry, thyme aroma. Forward but not jammy sweet black fruits. Tremendous acidity and chewy tannins. Long finish. Quite concentrated and this seems to come from old vines and pruning rather than extraction. The finish is not astringent or vegetal as in many Malbecs from Cahors. Ideal cassoulet wine and it went well with grilled hot chorizo. Way too early to drink. 13.5%. 92+/100
